Bryce Rafferty is a Colorado attorney and disability advocate. After having grown-up in the Northeast through high school, Bryce ventured West in 2007 as an undergraduate at Colorado College in Colorado Springs. There, Bryce majored in International Political Economy, enjoyed skiing and the outdoors, and laid the foundations for what he had hoped would be a life journey in music composition and guitar.

However, Bryce’s ambitions were stalled when he sustained a severe spinal cord injury from a shallow water diving accident in August 2009 that left him a C5/6 quadriplegic. He returned to Colorado College in a wheelchair for fall semester 2010 and graduated in 2012. Upon graduation, he moved to Denver and continued his rehabilitation, re-learning how to drive, managing home health care and public benefits, and learning to live as independently as possible.

Bryce quickly engaged with the disabled community in the Denver Metro area as an outpatient at Craig Hospital and became involved in disability advocacy with the Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition. Passionate about public service and advocacy, Bryce enrolled in the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2018. As a young attorney, Bryce now looks to be a zealous advocate for Coloradoans generally while continuing to work alongside his colleagues in the disabled community to improve their quality of life and equal access to needed services and vocational opportunities both in-state and nationwide.

Outside of advocacy, Bryce continues to play and compose music and takes frequent road trips in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. You will be sure to see him smile with a combination of good company, good music, and a mountain vista view.
