In 2015, Maddy graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and subsequently earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 2017.

Maddy specializes in neurorehabilitation for adults with spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury, and progressive neurodegenerative diseases. She is dedicated to addressing disparities for individuals living with paralysis and understands the importance of maximizing accessibility and services to narrow the disability gap. With a research background focusing on older adults aging in place, Maddy advocates for promoting independent lifestyles for all individuals. Additionally, Maddy’s work has been recognized through publication in the American Journal of Health Education, and she is eager to further this research across different populations.

She is a grassroots member of the Board of Advisors for the Colorado Paralysis Foundation and aligns her values with the mission to make positive and lasting impacts on a personal and policy level.

In her spare time, you can find Maddy staying active by training Brazilian jiu jitsu, practicing yoga, and hitting the ski slopes in the winter. She considers herself a concert enthusiast, loves solo traveling (favorite cities include Ljubljana, Aswan, and Amsterdam), and is a self-proclaimed competitive gardener.
